Monthly Competitions
Sections Prints Projected Images
(Colour and Mono images will compete together in the same section)
Eligibility ¨ You may enter a maximum of 4 images in each Monthly Competition with a maximum of 3 in any one section. ¨ Both colour and monochrome images are eligible in each section. ¨ Eligible images are those not previously entered in an Ayr PS Monthly Competition. ¨ It is permissible to enter different versions of the same image, but only in separate monthly competitions. e.g. print of a projected image or vice versa, mono version of a colour print or vice versa, etc.
P1. General Regulations ¨ Prints must be mounted with a maximum size of 50cm × 40cm including mount. There is no minimum size. ¨ Prints must display the Title, Authors Competition ID Number and Competing Class on the reverse of the print. ¨ For presentation purposes, at the authors’ discretion, the title may also be displayed on the front of the print/ mount. ¨ Slides must be “spotted” and carry authors ID number, Title, and Competing Class. ¨ Digital Projected Images must be submitted as; File resolution 1400 x 1050 pixels (The width must not exceed 1400 and the height must not exceed 1050). TIFF file with no compression, colour profile sRGB to be attached. These images can only be handed in on Hand-In night as a data transfer from USB Flash Drive to the supplied laptop PC. ¨ Each digital image must be named thus; title comp ID no.TIFF eg Dunure 77.TIFF ¨ Each author must accompany their entries with a competition entry form, showing; Competition Title, Member Competition ID, Image Titles and Competing Class ¨ This can be printed from the Ayr PS website or may be requested from the Competition Secretary. ¨ Competition ID numbers will be allocated by the competition secretary, and retained by the author for all future competition entries |

Competition Classes
¨ Advanced and Intermediate ¨ Ayr PS now operates a twin-class league system, to better reflect the varied levels of expertise amongst our increasingly active membership. ¨ Members will compete in only one class per season. ¨ Any member who has won a League or Exhibition Trophy (excluding the Enterprise Trophy) in the last two seasons will automatically compete in the Advanced League. ¨ Outwith this initial stipulation, it is left to the honourable discretion of individual members to decide which class to enter for the season. ¨ Any Intermediate Competitor winning a League or Exhibition Trophy will gain promotion to the Advanced class in the following season.
League and Scoring
¨ There will be 4 leagues (Prints: Advanced & Intermediate. Projected Images: Advanced & Intermediate), with a trophy for each. ¨ Judges will choose their Top 12 images in each Section and Class, plus Highly Commended at their discretion. ¨ Scores will be as follows: 1st place: 14 points 2nd place: 12 points 3rd place: 11 points 4th place: 10 points 5th place: 9 points 6th place: 8 points 7th place: 7 points 8th place: 6 points 9th place: 5 points 10th place: 4 points 11th place: 3 points 12th place: 2 points Highly Comm 1 point
P2. ¨ Your 10 best scores in each section over the 5 monthly competitions will count towards your final scores in each league. ¨ In the event of a tie for any of the Top 3 placings, in any of the League Sections/Classes then a tie-breaker will be applied. A count-back of high scores will apply, the winner being the author with the greatest number of high scores.

Annual Exhibition
Sections Prints Projected Images
Eligibility ¨ You may enter a maximum of 4 prints, and additionally a maximum of 6 projected images ¨ Images may not have been entered in the same section in any previous Ayr PS Annual Exhibition. ¨ However, Print/ Projected Image, Colour/ Mono versions of any image are considered to be separate images, and are therefore all eligible.
General Regulations and Competition Classes ¨ See “Monthly Competitions”. There are no differences in the annual exhibition.
