Members should be aware that we have now received some Sponsorship from Hector MacDonald. They gave us a very nice Lightweight Monopod for the Raffle at the Social Evening, and will be Sponsoring the First Open Competition of the new season on 4th October.
For those of you who do not already know, this is a long established, family run, & well stocked Camera Shop. Details are :-

Please also note that a lot of the Graphics cards being fitted to new computers, are capable of running 2 Monitors without any modification.
Provided that one Monitor is connected by a "Mini D" plug and the other by "DVI " plug (Round). Mini D are usually fitted to CRTs, some of the Flat Panels have both DVI and Mini D.
This seems to apply to a lot of H.P., Compaq, Dell, and Fujutsu Siemens Computers.
The computer specifications often do not mention this capability which is very helpful for Photoshop users.

Do you know what your legal rights are when out taking Photos? What would you do if the Police demanded to see the pictures you have taken? What would you do if some private security officer demanded that you hand over your Camera?
There is a website which provides legal information for British Photographers.
They have a downloadable PDF Document which can be printed out as a Double Sided A4 leaflet, which could be carried in the Camera Bag. There is also a forum where you can read the questions asked by photographers, and the answers provided by their Lawyer who is also a photographer.
If you are interested, and you should be, have a look at :-
